Your Instructor
With NRA certified instruction based in the Thomasville, NC area, Tarheel Firearm Training is dedicated to making firearms education accessible, welcoming, and thorough — especially for people who've never held a firearm before.
Tarheel Firearm Training believes that safe, responsible gun ownership starts with quality education. Every course taught follows the NRA's proven curriculum, which means you're getting instruction that's been refined over decades and trusted by millions of students nationwide. Our goal is simple: every student leaves our class more confident, more capable, and more safety-conscious than when they arrived.
You don't need experience to take one of our courses — just a willingness to learn. Class sizes are kept small so every student gets personal attention, and we create an environment where questions are always welcome. There's no such thing as a dumb question when it comes to firearm safety.

How I teach
Safety First, Always
Every class begins and ends with safety. The NRA's four fundamental rules of firearm safety are woven into every lesson.
Welcoming to All Skill Levels
Whether you've never touched a firearm or you're seeking official RSO certification, there's a place for you in our classroom.
Small Class Sizes
We keep enrollment limited so every student gets the personal attention they deserve — not a one-size-fits-all experience.
